Hi, I’m Sonja Lyth

(Prounounced Sun-ya). I’m a passionate fitness expert & integrative health coach here to help you cultivate a mindful & empowering relationship with exercise. As we age and our bodies start to change, practicing intentional, mindful movement like Pilates is the magic recipe to helping you move with more ease and strength, and to start seeing real results when what you used to do is no longer working. Here’s how:

☀️ You’ll learn to use breathwork to optimize your posture and connect to your deepest core muscles and stabilizers.

☀️ You’ll learn techniques that enhance the stability and mobility of your spine, and when this happens, pain in your lower back, neck, shoulders, and hips starts to go away.

☀️ You’ll have more range of motion, more freedom in movement, better body awareness, more strength and control with everything else you do… i.e, chasing your kid around, running, getting up and down stairs, playing sports, doing yoga, just moving with less pain and more ease.

It will rock your world and allow you to have the most functionally fit body you’ve ever had!

My goal is not only for you to see results, but to help create a routine that you look forward to because it offers you the space to be present in your body, moves stagnant energy, feels amazing, and brings out your inner strength and joy!

In 2007 I received my bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Hawaii Manoa, and soon after became a certified NASM personal trainer, Balanced Body Comprehensive Pilates teacher, and Health Coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.

Solshine Pilates is a culmilation of education and personal transformation through movement and over 18 years of experience creating and designing countless programs for clients that lead to incredible transformations inside and out.

Solshine Meaning

The name Solshine stems from the meaning behind the Solar Plexus “Soul Shine” chakra. The Solar Plexus is a bundle of nerves that sits below your diaphragm and is surrounded by the muscles of the Core. When this chakra is “off” it can cause feelings of anxiety, insecurity, and unworthiness, but when it’s balanced, it promotes strength, personal empowerment, and inner radiance. 

Your core is your “powerhouse”, and when you activate these deep muscles, it not only builds physical strength but helps remove stagnant/trapped energy. As you deepen your mind-body awareness, heal pain, build strength, and discover your physical capabilities, it helps ignite that strength and vibrance from within!

This concept represents my mission and passion behind teaching, both now and throughout the last 2 decades!
